Dated charm, reimagined fresh

The home at 429 Sayward Rd had good bones — original hardwood floors, a generous master bath with a bay window, and well-proportioned rooms. But years of accumulated finishes, tired paint colours, and outdated details were dulling its potential. Our brief was simple: refresh, refine, and restore the sense of calm this home deserved.

After After — sage walls, refreshed bath

Good bones, ready for change

The original interior featured warm pink tones throughout the master suite — walls, tile surrounds, and fixtures all leaning into a palette that had served its time. The layout was well-considered, with a generous jetted tub beneath a curved bay of glass block windows, separate toilet room, and a double vanity. The foundation was strong; it simply needed a new direction.

Methodical. Detail-driven.

1

Full Room Clearance

All furnishings, fixtures, and personal items were removed and protected, leaving a clean canvas for prep and painting work to begin.

2

Surface Preparation

Walls were cleaned, scuff-sanded, and any imperfections filled and primed — ensuring a flawless base for the new colour application.

3

New Colour — Full Application

A soft sage green was applied across the master suite, hallway, and toilet room — two full coats with careful cutting in around all trim, tile, and windows.

4

Trim & Detail Work

All door frames, baseboards, and window casings were refreshed in crisp white — sharpening the contrast against the new wall colour.

5

Final Clean & Staging

Thorough clean-down of all surfaces, floors, and fixtures. Rooms were staged and photographed to document the finished transformation.

Calm, considered, completely transformed.

The finished refresh elevated every room it touched. The sage green palette brought a cool, spa-like calm to the master suite — a natural complement to the glass block windows and warm hardwood floors. What took two weeks to complete looked like a whole new home.
